The steel grabber is a specialized piece of engineering machinery adapted from a hydraulic excavator, primarily used for handling materials such as steel, scrap metal, industrial waste, and construction debris. Its front-end working assembly consists of an extended boom and a multi-tine (orange-peel style) hydraulic grapple. These machines are available in two versions-factory-built (designed to specialized standards) and modified (utilizing components from used excavators)-offering options to reduce operating costs.

The equipment features a straight-boom and curved-stick configuration to expand the operating range and comes standard with a four- or five-tine grapple; some models include hydraulic slewing capabilities and a 360-degree rotating grapple head. The cab design incorporates a hydraulic elevating mechanism, allowing the operator to work at a height of up to 4.5 meters, and features a shock-absorbing, sound-insulated enclosure along with a pilot-valve control system. The power system supports dual-mode operation (diesel/electric), and select models utilize energy recovery technology to lower energy consumption.
