Alligator shearing machine (also known as alligator shear or crocodile mouth shearing) is a hydraulic driven metal shearing device, named after its structural principle, which is similar to the opening and closing action of the upper and lower jaws of crocodiles. It is mainly used in metal recycling and processing plants, scrap car dismantling yards, scrap steel plants, and smelting and casting industries. It is used for cold cutting of various shapes of steel (such as round steel, square steel, channel steel, angle steel, I-beam) and metal structural components to process them into qualified furnace materials.
Working Principle and Structure
The alligator shear machine adopts a hydraulic transmission system, and the core power source consists of hydraulic pumps, oil cylinders, valve groups, and oil tanks. When working, the metal material to be cut is first locked and fixed by the pre pressing device (pressing cylinder), and then the main pressure cylinder drives the moving blade (upper blade) to move towards the fixed blade (lower blade), achieving metal cutting operation under strong cutting pressure.

- Material restrictions: It is prohibited to cut unannealed steel parts, cast iron parts, soft metal parts, thin workpieces, workpieces with a length less than 100 millimeters, and workpieces exceeding the length of scissors.
- Safe distance: During operation, the human body is not allowed to approach the transmission part and blade of the equipment to prevent the material from lifting and injuring people.
- Standardized feeding: When cutting, the material should be cut as close to the inside of the knife as possible. When cutting shorter materials, it is strictly prohibited to use handheld workpieces for feeding. Special clamps must be used for feeding.
- Prohibition of illegal operations: During equipment operation, operators are not allowed to leave their posts without authorization; It is strictly prohibited to press materials with hands or feet inside the material box; Do not repair or touch moving parts with your hands while the machine is running.
