What Are Tiger Head Shears?
Tiger Head Shears (also known as Crocodile Shears or Heavy-Duty Alligator Shears) are hydraulic metal shearing machines designed for the cold-cutting of various ferrous scrap materials. They feature a hinged jaw mechanism that opens and closes like a tiger's mouth-hence the name-to efficiently cut through long metal stock and oversized scrap.
Unlike standard alligator shears, Tiger Head Shears are built for higher capacity and greater productivity, making them the preferred choice for medium-to-large scale recycling operations. With blade lengths typically ranging from 800 mm to 1,500 mm and shearing forces reaching up to 650 tons, these machines can handle everything from rebar and structural steel to entire automobile bodies.
